New Discount System In Place!
I have instituted a new discount system on the site!
One of things I was striving to accomplish with this new system is to remove the need for "coupons" to offer a discount. I've always found online "coupons" messy - you usually need to remember some sort of code that you input during checkout (if you actually remember to). All of that relies on the code actually being input correctly into the database and the subsequent code actually taking the right discount.
The system I have set into place is quite simple - if CCG Realm has more singles on hand then is projected to sell in the current year (based on past sales data), then a discount is applied. And the more singles we have on hand, the larger the discount for the customer.
That's it! No secret codewords to remember (or forget). While this system removes the use of "coupons", I will still periodically announce sales for certain items. I would recommend subscribing to the newsletter to stay up-to-date with the latest sales information. You can do so when you create an account, or by accessing the "My Account" link above.

All orders of $40 or more shipped within the U.S. are now eligible for free shipping. There is no checkout code necessary - the discount will be applied automatically.
I will be looking into adding a free shipping incentive for international customers as well.

Images Uploaded, Search Fixed
All of the Game of Thrones images for those singles in stock have been uploaded.
I have also fixed the search function so that it now shows the set that the single is in. I will be working to remove this column from the catalog page, as I feel it is redundant information. However, until I can dig into the code, it will have to do in it's current form.

We're Back!
I'm happy to announce that CCG Realm has re-opened it's doors!
I am happy to be back after more than a year away. It seems like so many wonderful things have happened in the CCG industry in the past year or so. Magic continues to re-invent itself in wonderful ways (I loved the Time Spiral block, and Lorwyn looks promising). One of my favorite games (and, I'm proud to say, a Minnesota product), A Game of Thrones has a beautiful new look and the improved artwork is fantastic. World of Warcraft has the potential to do what only Pokeman has been able to do - knock Magic from their #1 pedastal! And I continue to be amazed by the longevity of the Star Wars CCG. It has been over 5 years since the gaming license switched to Wizards of the Coast, and yet the game continues to thrive.
For those that did not see our re-opening posting, I am planning on opening two other stores in addition to this one: a CMG singles store and a comic book store. These stores will open (hopefully) sometime later in 2008, with the CMG store opening first.
For those that are interested, I am planning to carry the following games in the CMG store:- Dreamblade
- Dungeons and Dragons
- Halo
- Heroclix
- Horrorclix
- Star Wars
I am also working on a redesign of this site. As a Web Design student, I shudder everytime I look at the code for this site, because osCommerce uses a table-based design, rather than a CSS-based design. I will be changing this, but for now, this will serve my purpose. You can look for the redesign to be launched (hopefully) sometime this summer.
In the meantime, I have a number of things that I am working on for this site. Currently, only A Game of Thrones singles are posted, so I have a lot of work left to get everything posted to the site. I am also working on improving the search results, as it may be a little hard to figure out which single is from which set when a common name appears across multiple sets. Plus, I am finishing up the image scans for Game of Thrones as we speak, and they should be finished in a couple of days.
I will use this area to keep everyone up-to-date with what is going on at the store, as well as offer my opinions on some gaming topics that pop up from time to time.
For those of you that are returning customers, I offer a hardy Welcome Back! And for those of you that are new to the store, I thank you for stopping by. I hope I can offer you a friendly environment to purchase your CCG needs.
